Track skins and carryovers hole-by-hole
Max action: $90
Skins is one of the most exciting formats in golf betting because every hole matters. Unlike stroke play where you count total scores, in Skins you win money by having the lowest score on individual holes. The catch? If two or more players tie for the low score, nobody wins that hole - the "skin" carries over to the next hole, doubling its value.
This carry over mechanic creates incredible drama. A single hole could be worth 5-6 skins if there's been a string of ties. Players who are behind can win big on one clutch birdie. It's the ultimate format for nail-biting golf.
Hole 1: Everyone shoots par (4). Nobody wins. Skin carries over.
Hole 2: Now worth $10 ($5 original + $5 carryover). Player A shoots birdie (3), everyone else pars. Player A wins $10.
Hole 3: Back to $5. Player B and Player C both shoot 4, Players A and D shoot 5. Tie between B and C → carries over.
Hole 4: Worth $10 again. Player D shoots par, everyone else bogeys. Player D wins $10.
After 4 holes:
Skins is the perfect format for groups with mixed skill levels when using handicaps. A 20-handicapper getting strokes on the hard holes can absolutely clean up against scratch golfers. It's also great for keeping everyone engaged - even if you're shooting poorly overall, one good hole can win you a ton of money.
